DESCRIPTION: The silent era’s most shocking film with an equally shocking live score\n\nHaxan (1922) may be one of the most strange and shocking films ever made. What is it exactly? A silent documentary about witchcraft? An “essay film” about satanic panic? A pastiche of vignettes about the persecution of women? A psychedelic fever dream about sexual repression? None of these descriptions seem to do it justice. It is best to just watch it with an open mind and let the flood of images wash over you.\n\nThe performance features composer and music director Brendan Cooney on piano, Carlos Santiago and Liz Carlson on violins and Chris Coyle on bass. \n\nDoors open at 7:00 pm. The event will take place in the second floor Art Gallery, which is up two flights of stairs. Please note that this is not a wheelchair accessible event.\n\nFor details, click here: https://glenfoerd.secure.nonprofitsoapbox.com/haxan-w-live-music-by-not-so-silent-cinema
